Minecraft House Tells Story of Divorce

It has been said that every house has a story. I never really knew what this meant until I came across the house featured in this week’s column. The story this house is telling is about a couple who agree to build a Minecraft house on their waterfront property only to have their marriage end in divorce.

While I have no evidence that the story from this particular house is true, my time spent pretending to be clairvoyant has convinced me that I am on the money.

Back to our couple. Spouse A said their future home needed to have two bathrooms and a great porch to look at the water. Spouse B said they would absolutely have two bathrooms and a porch because after years of playing Minecraft, they knew exactly how to design and build the home of their dreams by themselves.

A few months pass and Spouse A is aching to see the progress being made on the home. They both arrive at this point in the construction.

The home located at 5810 Fenwick Road, Bryans Road, Maryland, indeed does have two bathrooms and two bedrooms only there is no way of telling where they are. The asking price is $600,000. My clairvoyance tells me the reaction to the house went something like this.

“What in the name of everything good and holy is this?”

“Isn’t it fantastic? I got the inspiration from Minecraft Dungeons. I even put an emergency escape hatch in the basement. I just needs to be finished.”

“Look this will be the kitchen or maybe the primary bath, probably the kitchen. You see those spaces in the wall, we can use those to hide our rewards. I haven’t quite figured out how to do the roofing or the walls or the windows but I’m playing Minecraft again tonight so I’ll figure it out then.”

“And look, I have just about everything need to finish out the rest of the house. It’s 80 percent done. Awesome right?”

“And look at that view of the lake. Be careful though, I still haven’t put up any railing or all the windows or walls. You don’t want to fall.”

“I don’t understand. You are you saying, you do not like the house? Look I finished your porch and even put two chairs so we can sit and relax. Just make sure you don’t trip over the escape hatch door next to the wall. Those really come in handy in Minecraft Dungeons.”

It does not take a clairvoyant to know that the story ends in divorce when using skills learned by playing Minecraft.
