Long Cove Townhomes: This Is Modern Living on the Lake

Back in March we told you about Long Cove’s newest luxury lakefront neighborhood, Henderson Bay, and now we’ve got complete details about the sleek new townhomes being built there by Robert Elliott Custom Homes, starting from $695,000.

Since the beginning, we’ve followed Don McNamara’s Long Cove development as it’s become a sprawling 1,000-acre second-home haven and a go-to weekend spot for many in the Metroplex. Long Cove, located on the clear, deep end of Cedar Creek Reservoir, was inspired by getaways like those of the Seaside and Watercolor communities in Florida.

But this new 40-acre private and protected cove will feature sandy beach volleyball, a slide into the lake, lakeside fire pits, shared play fields, and rolling lawns. Plus there’s an amphitheater large enough to host an orchestra for outdoor concerts.

The contemporary two-story Long Cove townhomes have two different floor plans to choose from: a two-bedroom, three-bath interior lot home that has 2,422 square-feet or a three-bedroom, five-bath corner lot home that has an impressive 3,198 square-feet. In total, there will be only eight townhomes built.

In the two-bedroom floor plan, the kitchen and large living area are located upstairs, along with the secondary bedroom and bath.

The downstairs master bedroom has a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows. The master bath has a freestanding vessel tub and a dual showerhead glass shower with modern polished chrome fixtures and faucets. There’s a large walk-in closet too.

In the three-bedroom floor plan, there are two bedrooms downstairs including the master suite that has that fabulous wall of windows. Plus, the family room has a full bath en suite of its own.

Upstairs, you’ll find the open floor plan kitchen, dining area, and living room. The deck provides extra outdoor living space and gives a unique elevated view of the shoreline. The third bedroom is smartly tucked away on the other end of the second floor.

The kitchen in this Long Cove townhome has everything you’d expect in your fully-equipped home kitchen, including Caesarstone quartz countertops, custom cabinetry with soft-close hardware, designer Bedrosian backsplash tile, and stainless steel appliances from brands including Sub-Zero, Wolf, Dacor, Bosch, and Asko.

Allow me to paint a picture for you: Grab something from the Sub-Zero 36-inch built-in side-by-side refrigerator and cook on your Wolf 36-inch six-burner gas cooktop. Snag a bottle of wine from the 24-inch undercounter beverage cooler with wine storage as you pop some dinner rolls in the convection oven. Wine and dine, then let the Asko dishwasher tackle the dishes for you as you retire onto the patio.

Or, pop by the poolside Regatta Grill for sunset views and cocktails. You’re on “lake time” so you don’t have to cook.

The townhomes are built by Robert Elliott Custom Homes, a Daltxrealestate.com preferred builder, and designed from floor to ceiling by John Boyd and Associates, whose exceptional portfolio includes luxury residents in Dallas, Aspen, Ireland, Mexico, and family estates and ranches throughout Texas.

Homeowners can choose from two color schemes: airy or warm, though both are very subtle and come down to whether you want a dab of brown in there to create a warm sandstone color, or you prefer the more trendy gray palate.

Long Cove describes them as low maintenance, lock-and-leave living, which means you don’t have to worry about the house when you’re not there. The Long Cove team offers premium services such as a boat valet to keep it tuned, gassed and clean. Plus, lawns can be mowed, trimmed, houses cleaned, and refrigerators stocked upon your arrival.

If you’ve got the itch to build yourself and design from the ground up, there are still lakefront home sites available. The Long Cove team offers its connections with several top A-list builders and architects to make the process easy. You’ll recognize the names like Stocker Hoesterey Montenegro Architects and Tatum Brown Custom Homes among many. Those preferred builders, architects, and landscape architects have worked on Long Cove homes before and understand the style and landscape of the area.

Need to kick the tires before you buy? Of course. Robert Elliott is among the builders who are building spec homes that should be finished and for sale in time for this year’s lake season. (I guess anytime is lake season with all the amenities available at Long Cove.)

To “try before you buy,” Long Cove is now offering three-day, two-night Stay & Play packages. These “hands on, shoes off experiences” start at $1,495. For more information call 214-220-4924.
