Living on Luther Lake in Fort Worth Brings Spectacular View

4105 Rowan Drive in the evening

Did you ever see the movie “On Golden Pond” with Henry Fonda, Kathryn Hepburn, and Jane Fonda?  I remember being extremely bored by the movie (I was way too young back then), but I remember the scenes where the characters would sit at their house and enjoy the view of the lake.  Peaceful, tranquil, serene views, to say the least.  I remember thinking that one day I wanted to live on a lake after seeing that movie.

If you like to see a view from your home, I have the perfect home for you — 4105 Rowan Drive is a home that makes you want to grab your hammock, pour a glass of lemonade and enjoy your surroundings.

View of Luther Lake
How’s this for a view from your house?

In real estate, the word “view” is one of the more incorrectly overused words.  Apparently every home in the Metroplex has a view.  As a real estate sales professional, I confess that I, too, have used that word liberally when painting the picture of homes and what can be seen.

Tremendous view of Luther Lake from almost every room in the home

The home at 4105 Rowan Drive is different. It is not one of those homes where you can almost have a view of something spectacular from one window if you step on your tip-toes at the right time of the evening.  No, this home literally has a view of tranquil Luther Lake from just about every room!

Built in 1969, this home was certainly made for the homesite.  You can tell the designer and builder didn’t just go through a book of cookie-cutter plans when considering this property.  The homesite slopes from the road to the lake so the home needed to be precisely placed to perfectly fit the property (that was a sentence with five P-words if you’re counting at home).  Certainly the desire to maintain the best view was a core principle as construction commenced.

Could you wake up to this view? Me too

The home is 2,489 square feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms.  The floor plan is surprisingly open and flows well for being built almost 50 years ago.  And you thought this open-concept idea was a new phenomenon.  The interior finish has been updated to give the look and feel of a much newer home.

Updated homes are worth it
Hardwood floors, cool colors, and peaceful views at 4105 Rowan Drive.

Imagine cooking in the updated kitchen and being able to watch the lake as water laps onto the shore.  Think about the view of fireworks during the week (yes, not just one day) of Fourth of July as you sit on your large deck with all your friends and family.  Talk about Front Row Joe!

I would learn to cook if I had a view like this from my kitchen

Take 44 seconds and watch this YouTube clip of Christmas Lights on Luther Lake.  You’ll thank me.

Not only is this home about a view, it is also about convenience.  Located in Ridglea Hills in Fort Worth, 4105 Rowan Drive is literally five-to-10 minutes from anywhere you would want to be in Cowtown.  Downtown?  Yep.  Bass Hall?  Of course.  TCU?  Absolutely.  Central Market?  Certainly.  This home gives you the feeling of being in a remote lake community while being a short drive to so many places of interest.

This listing at 4105 Rowan Drive is available for sale for $749,900.  It is listed by Rob McWhirter of the John Zimmerman Team of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International (try saying that 10 times quickly).  Call Rob directly 817.201.0807 for a private showing.  Bring your fishing pole, hammock, or canoe — you never know what might happen.

That’s all from Tarrant County this week, Dirty Readers.  Remember, if you have comments, questions, snide remarks or ideas for future stories – I’m always here to listen!
