Lakewood Traditional is Move In-Ready in Every Sense

What a fantastic home that really typifies “move in-ready” for me! For a home to be move in-ready, it has to:

  • Have immaculate neutral paint and fresh baseboards and trim,
  • Have gorgeous floors that are in tip-top shape,
  • And have a kitchen that is ready to plug-in and go!

This home, a 1937 traditional cottage, has all of these things, as well as some fantastic light fixtures and beautiful living areas. There are three bedrooms, two full baths, an updated kitchen, and more than 1,800 square feet, making this home at 6426 Westlake a perfect, cozy family property. This home, located inside Lakewood’s Country Club Estates, is listed with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s Realtor Karla Trusler for $515,000.

I also love this home because, while it does have a lot of fresh paint and clean lines, it doesn’t lose its character in all the trends. There’s still a cozy warmth and inviting atmosphere in this home, especially in the living room and family room. The kitchen, with its slate tile floor and gleaming white cabinetry, is lovely, too. Modern light fixtures are a great counterpoint to the traditional decor, and I really adore the chandelier in the kitchen. That’s a great way to add character!

The master bedroom is a good size at 16 x 12, which is even more spectacular thanks to the walk-in closets. I have no idea how they managed to fit walk-in closets into a bedroom of this size, but they did, and I’m sure that’s a huge selling point for this home. The master bath has a double vanity, a soaking tub, and a separate shower. It’s big enough for two, but it’s not the gigantic en-suite bath you see in a lot of homes in this area. I think it’s actually better this way, as it uses the space more wisely and still retains the feel of the home with the earthy tile floor and the funky vanity mirror.

The backyard is large and has a wonderful deck for entertaining. You can access it via the French doors off of the office/sun room connected to the master bedroom, or via the kitchen. It’s plenty of room for lounging, grilling, and letting kids run crazy once they’ve come home from school. Speaking of schools, this home is inside the award-winning Lakewood Elementary attendance area, which feeds into up-and-coming J.L. Long and high-ranking Woodrow Wilson High School.

Are you ready to move in yet?
