Lakewood for Under $1.5M? Vanderbilt Beauty Snapped Up in 4 Days

I could tell you the Dallas real estate market is hot, but if you’ve been paying attention, you already know that. This week’s Inwood Home of the Week sponsored by Inwood National Bank is a beautiful 2006-built Mediterranean on one of the best blocks in Lakewood, and it’s a beauty that went under contract in four days. Let’s find out why.

It’s a Lakewood home going for less than $1.5 million. End of story.

Well, I need more word count than that, so here’s what listing agent Paul Sanders of Compass had to say about 6623 Vanderbilt Avenue, a 4,529-square-foot five-bedroom home listed for $1.195 million.

“What made this house so popular with multiple offers is that inventory is extremely low in this price point feeding into Lakewood Elementary,” Sanders says. “It didn’t have a pool (yet) but that was one of the reasons I think helped make it that much popular since you could buy into the neighborhood for less than $1.5M.”

Sanders says the house has a very grand feel with elevated finishes, transitional design, and an ornately railed staircase that spirals to the ceiling, and compared to many.

The kitchen features a breakfast bar, dual sinks, a pot filler, commercial-grade range, built-in refrigerator/freezer, built-in microwave, and butler’s pantry. There’s also a wet bar and wine storage closet.

“The great open floorplan also helped win multiple offers, as well as a great second living upstairs, which is truly flex space because it could be used as living, media, game room, office, etc.,” Sanders says.

Of course, it’s Lakewood so you’re minutes from the best restaurants and shopping that Dallas has to offer — when we do that sort of thing again. Meanwhile, it’s close to White Rock Lake and the Arboretum.

Paul Sanders has listed 6623 Vanderbilt Ave for $1.195 million.
