Jenna Ryan, The North Texas Broker Who Stormed The Capitol on Jan. 6, Is Released From Prison

A spokesperson from a federal prison facility in Bryan, Texas, confirmed to Daltxrealestate.com this afternoon that Jenna Ryan, the Frisco real estate broker who was convicted for her part in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol insurrection, was released from federal prison today.

Ryan, who at one time purported herself to be a social media expert, was released after serving a little more than a month of her 60-day sentence.  She turned herself in on Jan. 15.

The North Texas Realtor first gained infamy last year after posting photos and videos of herself particpating in the Jan. 6 riot. In one of them, she even plugged her local real estate business.

In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Ryan called herself a patriot and boasted that she would not be going to jail. Her outspoken social media posts brought her national and international attention.  She would later plead guilty to one count of parading, picketing, or demonstrating in the U.S. Capitol.

Though she faced up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $5,000, a federal judge sentenced her to 60 days in jail for her actions. She also received a $1,000 fine and was ordered to pay $500 in restitution to the Capitol architect. In the November sentencing, U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper opted to go with a much lighter sentence that had been recommended by the Justice Department.

Before going to jail, Ryan boasted on social media about using her time behind bars to detox, get healthier and do lots of yoga. No word yet on how that worked out for her.
