Inwood Mortgage Home of the Week: East Dallas Craftsman is BRAND SPANKING NEW & Will Shelter You From Many a Storm

I pass by this house on the way to my daughter and son-in-law’s Hollywood Heights abode, and have thus watched it being raised from the foundation up. It’s kind of like a kid you car-pooled who you are ever so proud of when you see them get their wings and take flight.

This is new construction that proves new doesn’t have to be McMansion stucco’ed to death stone and stucco Old World Mediterranean mess. Hello, we welcome the Craftsman style home in the heart of East Dallas, which kind of resembles the Craftsmen homes that were actually original to the area. 6115 Richmond, listed with that dynamo Brandon Travelstead at Dallas City Center Realtors,  is a perfect blend of historical characteristic with high-end, circa 2014 interior finish out. From pure marble floors, Restoration Hardware lighting, Thermador appliances, thick 8-inch base moldings, solid core doors, stunning crown molding, and those coffee-with-chocolate colored wood floors that just make me want to eat them up. (God I love dark hardwoods!)

The home is a respectable 3510 square feet, with four bedrooms, three full and one half bath, two interior living areas and an outdoor kitchen. Yeah, no kidding! The huge kitchen with eating area has two sinks! Granite-type counters means they are using the more forward-thinking materials. The master has a separate tub and shower and oh my, what a tub it has: a modern version of the soaking clawfoot. Plus there is a built-in Family Safe storm shelter under the staircase.

You want to talk perfect location? Corner of Richmond and Skillman and yes, when the weather isn’t torturing us, you could walk to Whole Foods or anything in that cute village of Lakewood. Minutes from Wholefoods & White Rock Lake!

You want more perfection? How about price? $799,000. Just listed on July 25, like a few days ago, and look at this place. Shall we take bets on how she lasts? Who wants to give me $100 on 5 days? Though it could be faster: I called about a lot the other day, thing sold five minutes after being listed.

The good thing is that the folks at Inwood Mortgage can get you a loan as fast as this house can close… maybe faster. Fabulous new construction on that cute .19 acre lot with a huge 2-car garage in back, all brand spanking new.
