Ease Into Family Life With This Picture Perfect Carrollton Home

If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t buy my home with the thought of having a family, and yet here we are. Now, if I had purchased a home with having a family in mind, I probably would have made many different decisions on what is really a “must-have.” Or, I could have saved myself a lot of time (and my Realtor even more time) if I had just gone out and bought our High Caliber Home of the Week Presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans.

Why is this listing from Compass Dallas agent Phillip Murrell so appealing for a family?

It has a tidy little yard and a great pool, for starters. Just imagine all the time and hassle you’ll save when your kid is old enough to swim! No trips to the YMCA or the recreation center pool and every birthday party is easy — pizza and pool party! Plus, this home has been perfectly maintained, with hardwood floors and an open floor plan with tons of natural light.

“I love the floorplan of 3821 Branch Hollow,”  Murrell shared. “The home is anchored by a gorgeous two-sided fireplace that can be enjoyed from the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Plus, natural light floods every corner of the home.”

Second, I’d have a fireplace where I can pin our stockings come Yule. Sadly, my adorable ranch doesn’t have a fireplace. This two-story traditional has a double-sided one, so if one of your kids is being a jerk about having to put their stocking next to that of their sister/brother/parent, just give them their own side. Problem solved!

Of course, another big issue with ranch homes is how hard it is to keep your eyes on your brood. But in this 1987-built home, the kitchen is open to a small breakfast area or playroom and the dining room. You can see practically clear across the house.

Also fabulous is the tastefully updated tile in the kitchen area, which is only one of the most recent upgrades at 3821 Branch Hollow. Sellers also replaced the roof, added solar panels, refurbished the pool with fresh tile and a natural gas heater, and installed smart home technology.

The second-floor master bedroom has more of those vaulted ceilings you loved downstairs, plus there’s a great five-piece master bath. I like the idea of a second story for family life, as long as you’re diligent about baby gates and childproofing. But what’s also great is that when the kids are playing loud video games downstairs, you can get far away from the noise (and everyone else, let’s be honest) in your master retreat.

But the backyard? That really sells it, as the home backs right up to a private park, which has a lovely hike and bike trail and a children’s playground.

“Branch Hollow is the perfect home for outdoor entertaining. With its recently made-over pool, the backyard also has plenty of green space and yard,” Murrell said. “And if that’s not enough, the back of the home faces a private neighborhood park with a walking trail for pets and ‘fun zone’ for the little ones. With direct access from the backyard, the park acts an extension of the outdoor entertaining and living space.”
