Thoughtfully Planned Craftsman in Winnetka Heights Feels Open and Bright

Is that not the cutest little Craftsman you’ve ever seen? Seriously. The. Cutest.

It seems like David Griffin Realtor Crystal Gonzalez is getting all of the cutest listings in Winnetka Heights, where this adorable blue bungalow is located. From the  color scheme to the wrap-around porch to the lovely French doors, this home is just as sweet as pie.

Inside it is perfectly transitional, with stained hardwood floors, bright white paint, and a brand new kitchen that will keep your dinner guests comfortable well past dessert. For all of these reasons, we’re happy to feature this Cutie Pahtootie Craftsman in North Oak Cliff as our High Caliber Home of the Week sponsored by Caliber Home Loans. Is this the home of your dreams? Don’t waste time — call Lisa Peters at Caliber Home Loans today to get the right loan for your dream home.

Those refinished hardwoods go so well with the warm white paint on the walls and window frames all over this 1925-built bungalow, and while I grieve the loss of the original fireplace, this mantle and tile ensemble isn’t offensive. But it’s the layout of this 2,078-square-foot home at 115 S. Clinton Ave. that really has an impact on you. You get two living spaces at the very front of the house, and then an open dining area in front of the brand new kitchen. With all of these windows, it makes the home feel so open and bright.

As Gonzalez notes, no stone has been left unturned in the renovation of this three-bedroom, two-bath home in historic Winnetka Heights. Every surface has been re-done, and the kitchen is a completely custom job right down to the quartz countertops. I am on the fence about the Edison bulb pendant lights, but otherwise I feel like this is a stellar, ready-to-party home. Gonzalez is marketing it for $499,000, which clocks in at a little over $240 per square foot. Whoo boy. Oak Cliff has come a long way, baby.

The master suite is the largest bedroom, but not by much. As you can expect, this home still has its historic proportions, and the master bedroom measures 15 x 13, while the other two bedrooms are 13 x 11. Still, the master has enough room for you king-sized bed and maybe an armoire if you don’t slack on your pilates. Otherwise you may have to suck in your food baby as you move between the furniture.

The master bath is a short-and-sweet affair, with a single shower stall and some very good-looking tile. I am loving this trend toward durable porcelain and ceramic tiles that look like natural surfaces. Digital printing gives it so much depth and texture, right?

The second bathroom is a little more classic, with a free-standing soaking tub and oversized marble-topped vanity. Put a frame around that mirror to give it some pizzaz and put up a scalloped shower curtain and it is just perfect.

The backyard is pretty much a blank slate save for the car port, which, if you’re creative, could double as outdoor living space. You have a tidy little back deck and then a lush lawn, but otherwise you are limited only by your imagination. Wouldn’t a cute little English-style garden with a water feature look great back here? What do you think?
