Back in 2011, Dallas band The O’s beckoned listeners to “come away” with them in a Sunday-perfect ditty called “We’ll Go Walkin’,” which started with the line, “We’ll go walkin’ to Tietze Park …” We bring this up, because for one, everyone needs a perfect earworm for a Sunday morning, and because we’ve found a rental home that allows you to do that, and it’ll take basically the first stanza to get you there.
It’s a charming one-bedroom duplex that could be two bedrooms, right across the street from the popular park, and a quick jaunt to Lakewood shopping and dining, or White Rock Lake.
Unfamiliar? Tietze Park is a 9-acre neighborhood park hemmed in by Skillman Avenue, and Llano and Vanderbilt streets. It’s named after the late Dallas superintendent of parks W.R. Tietze, who was a floriculturist and oversaw the development of the city’s parks from 1896 to 1933, according to the Friends of Tietze Park.
Nowadays, it’s truly a park for everyone in the neighborhood. You’ll see adults working out, children crawling all over the play structures, and in the summer, there’s always the pool — which is going to be even better this year after a complete rehab and promotion to an aquatic center.
So needless to say, living across the street from the park at 6128 Llano Ave. Unit 6130 is kind of a big deal.
And the person who rents this home is getting a great abode, too — a versatile floor plan that can be a one bedroom with a study or a two bedroom, with an open common area that flows from living room to dining to kitchen.
There are hardwood floors throughout, and the kitchen boasts granite counters, a gas stove, refrigerator, and space for a full size washer and dryer. The bathroom has gotten an update, as have the doors, lighting, and windows.
The home rents for $1,450 a month, and is listed by Alex Zygouras with Keller Williams Realty Plano. Want to see more photos? Click here. Need a good Sunday-morning song? See below.
