“Bulldog” Concho Minick Joins Douglas Elliman Realty as Executive Manager of Sales

Concho Minick

Douglas Elliman Realty has snagged a Texas-born leader with strong regional experience and an Ivy League resume to boot. Last week, the New York City-based broker announced that Concho Minick has joined the Elliman team as Executive Manager of Sales for Dallas-Fort Worth.

Minick was formerly the CEO and Principal Director of DFW-based Christie’s International Real Estate Ulterre, which was sold to Compass in March 2022. But Minick was also the longtime President of Billy Bob’s Texas, a world-renowned entertainment facility billed as the “biggest country music honky tonk” in the world, complete with a live bull-riding arena and several bars.

Billy Bob’s is located in the famed Fort Worth Stockyards, in a former cattle storage facility and department store. Minick’s parents, Billy and Pat Minick, were part of a team of owners who resurrected the original nightclub in 1988 after the original founders, pro football player Billy Bob Barnett and Spencer Taylor, shuttered the club that was first opened in 1981. Minick is no longer involved with Billy Bob’s, having sold the club in 2021.

Why the move to Elliman?

“I first encountered Elliman back around 2021, and fell in love with the team,” says Minick. “Over the past year, I met a lot of Elliman folks from New York and LA and it just came together. From top to bottom, I felt everything about the firm was incredibly solid and believe Elliman is the best brokerage I have come across so far.”

Minick says it was all about the Texas team culture.

“The top brokerages all have fairly similar competitive tools in their offices,” he explained. “What it comes down to for me is the people and culture. Elliman’s Texas team leadership is composed of highly intelligent, very competitive players… the kind of people you want to join in any industry. Visionary leaders who foster a great culture.”

Besides recruiting, Minick says his new position requires a lot of ground-up entrepreneurial skills, which he says is his forte.

“I think the real story here is about Elliman bringing in an entrepreneur to optimize and grow the region,” says Minick.

He adds that the Douglas Elliman brokerage, which was founded in 1911, is also one of the strongest brokerages financially (real estate tech strategist Mike del Prete agrees) with definite plans for expansion across North Texas.

Mike Reddell, who held the executive manager of sales position previously, will remain at Elliman as a sales agent.

“Concho has an impressive record of leadership,” said Stephen Kotler, CEO of Douglas Elliman Realty’s Western Region. “His emphasis on creativity and fostering a positive culture through unwavering support for his agents will be critical in further expanding Elliman’s presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. “
