Brickitecture LEGO Exhibit Continues Through Feb. 11 at Architecture And Design Exchange

The Parthenon wasn’t built in a day, but scaled LEGO models of the Greek architectural phenomenon were constructed in just a couple of hours on a cool Saturday morning at the Architecture and Design Exchange in downtown Dallas.

Blane Ladymon, representing the American Institute of Architects, gave a brief talk on Greek architecture to about 20 families and helped them build their own models from a LEGO kit. The exhibit is inspired by and stocked from Ladymon’s personal LEGO collection.

The Brickitecture LEGO exhibit will be on display, complete with a hands-on LEGO lab, through Feb. 11.

The LEGO exhibit is one of the most popular events at the AD | EX studios, and it’s also an opportunity to educate the public on the work done inside the offices at 325 North St. Paul St. in downtown Dallas.

AD | EX is the public outreach arm of the AIA, offering summer camps and youth scholarships. AIA is perhaps best known for its annual home tour.
