2726-Lawtherwood-FrontThis home is perfect for a family with an active lifestyle that wants security, location, and access to Dallas’ crown jewel, White Rock Lake. Not only is it spacious with four bedrooms, two full and one half baths, and large living areas, but it is inside the Lawtherwood subdivision, where you’ll have access to a private park with an affordable HOA.

This 1981 traditional at 2726 Lawtherwood Court is a fantastic example of an updated home that still has plenty of character. It’s low maintenance, thanks to the brick patio and minimal lawn, making it easy to love for those who want to live close to all of the outdoor amenities White Rock Lake offers. With two living areas, two dining areas, an updated kitchen, and a spacious upstairs master suite, this home is a great value for $585,000. HOA dues are $350 a month.

I’m usually not a fan of traditionals, but this home has some compelling finishes and flow that make me re-think my position on the style. The floors, which are sealed brick throughout much of the first floor of the home, are in great shape. There are hardwood floors in the formal living and dining areas, and new carpet throughout the upstairs. There’s a lovely sunroom of the main living area, with atrium windows. This is a fantastic escape for those who want to bask in sunlight like reptiles during the winter. It’s a good spot for a chaise and your collection of potted orchids.

The bright white paint throughout the first floor offsets the heavy feel of the brick floors and the dark wood of the kitchen cabinetry. Speaking of the kitchen, this one is a beaut! It has commercial grade appliances, built ins throughout, a huge venthood on the eat-in island, and tons of light thanks to the unique backsplash window in the butler’s pantry. It has a very open feel, which had to be an object of the renovation. I also love the stainless steel skirted sink, which is very on-trend right now.

Upstairs you’ll find all four bedrooms and the two full baths. The master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and a very spacious feel, but the master bath is cramped in comparison, with a galley-style configuration with a huge built-in vanity with two sinks opposite a separate bath tub and shower. It’s functional but a bit claustrophobic.

I do love the covered patio and the brick walk that extends the outdoor living area. This is a great spot for small family get-togethers where all you need is a grill, a cooler, and some Jimmy Buffet piped in over a wireless speaker. What do you think of this low-maintenance Lakewood home?
