Celebrate excellent design in a gallery setting at SMINK right now, as this Design District showroom celebrates “The ART of the Chair.” The exhibition is a brief introduction of incredible chair designs, including two classic pieces from Arflex and a few new designs from Tacchini.
Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto, and Ola Rune joined forces to develop the “Kelly” line (below), a new chapter in their collaboration with Tacchini.
“Designed with pure and bright colors, in biomorphic shapes, and exuding ‘friendly and wholesome feelings,’ these new soft seating designs are destined to be part of the Google-icious future of commercial interiors. In futuristic office spaces everywhere, there are collaborative open zones with brightly colored soft seating, clustered together to enhance communion of creative minds. It’s all the rage. The Swedish designers, Claesson, Koivisto and Rune, have taken it ten steps into the future with these high quality, sculptural pieces that offer a certain sophistication in the new age of creative offices.”
Don’t miss a chance to view Arflex’s classic “Sir” chair and footstool — a design that will stand the test of time along with other retro-modern mainstays. The “Fiorenza” will also be on display. The exhibition will run until Feb. 15.
