Bloomfield Homes is developing a $600 million mixed-use community in Anna. (Bloomfield Homes)

Another development, another step toward stretching this region toward Grayson County.

Bloomfield Homes is developing a $600 million mixed-use community that will include 969 new homes on the west side of U.S. 75 near FM 455 in Anna. Called Crystal Park, the new community will include commercial properties along the front property along the highway, multifamily apartment development, and a professional campus.

Last week, the Anna City Council passed a pre-annexation agreement and development standards consistent with the Anna 2050 Comprehensive Plan. The city approved a Public Improvement District for the development and will receive more than $3 million in PID fees, according to the city.

“It is always a pleasure to work with Bloomfield Homes because they provide a quality product and do what they say they are going to do,” Anna Mayor Nate Pike said in a statement. “Crystal Park will be a one-of-a-kind mixed-use development providing unique amenities and a variety of housing options for Anna neighbors.”

Bloomfield Homes Chairman Don Dykstra expressed similar excitement in another statement.

“Anna provides a great location, good school district, and small-town feel that many people are looking for in a community,” Dykstra said.

Crytal Park follows a trend of developments in Collin County that are rolling toward Grayson County. McKinney, Melissa, and Weston have developments along or near U.S. 75 and adjacent to similar growth in Celina and Prosper up State Highway 289. Bloomfield has two communities in Anna — Lakeview Estates and West Crossing.

Anna has a population of more than 18,000 and growth is expected to reach 100,000 by 2050, according to the city.
