Last year I offered you fine people the opportunity to buy me a she-shed in New Mexico. It was 87.5 acres, had fantastic views of a lake and state park and it came with my very own herd of alpacas. It was a million dollars and no one took advantage of Venmo to send me the money for that gem.
While a little hurt at first, I get it now. You were all just looking out for me. You thought I deserved something better. You guys are soooo sweet.
With all that being said, I think I have found the perfect “she-shed” you guys can buy me. While still in New Mexico, my future getaway costs less than the alpaca farm. I simply cannot wait until you see this place. You are going to love it.
Casa de Roca — is that not the absolute best name in the world for my house? It is so dramatic. Hold on, let me start over. I am getting lost in the sauce, the Casa de Roca sauce.
Casa de Roca is located at 13 Lime Kiln Road, Lamy, New Mexico. It is a one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom home. It is 2,300 square feet in size and sits on five acres of land. The owners are asking $899K.
This home is “a unique and private hideaway situated on limestone cliffs on the outskirts of Lamy.”
Built by Santa Fe jeweler Norah Pearson, the interior of the home is an absolute gem.
Built to match its surroundings, the home also features a kiva. What is a kiva you ask? I had to look it up myself.
A kiva is a space used by Puebloans for rites and political meetings, many of them associated with the kachina belief system. Kiva translates to a large room that is circular and typically underground.
There is even a cooking kiva in the kitchen. I would gladly let you people pay $100K just so I could have my own kiva as well as a cooking kiva.
From top to bottom the home has an incredible flow.
I could see myself being completely relaxed in this house.
Now I know there are a few party poopers out there. “It’s a house built in rocks. It’s rocks. What is there to do with so many rocks besides scraping our knees?”
