Award-winning remodeler Stephan Sardone can settle the remodel-versus-sell debate (@stephansardone)

Most people underestimate what goes into a home remodel. Maybe it’s the cost. (Hint No. 1: It’s more than you think). Or how it will impact their family. (Hint No. 2: Plan on moving out, at least part of the time.)

But the good news is, Sardone Construction owner Stephan Sardone specializes in eliminating the guesswork. The veteran Remodeler has a proven process that seamlessly answers the question: Should you stay, or should you go?

“Home remodeling is not for everybody.“

“It’s hard. It takes time. It’s pricey,” says Stephan. “And everyone involved needs to be on the same page.” The company’s comprehensive consultation service helps clients determine the best course of action: Move, refurbish, or in some cases, neither.

“Just ask yourself: What’s it worth to KNOW what you should do? Rather than saying what if for the next 5 years, you have to be able to make a decision and trust that the team you’re working with that they helped you make the right one,” says Stephan.

The process is particularly beneficial to first-time remodelers — the ones who’ve heard the war stories and don’t want to live them. That’s where Sardone Construction really shines.

“We consider ourselves consultants and advocates throughout the entire process,” he says. “It’s not enough to do good work. That’s a given. What you also want is a company that’s a pleasure to work with and will advocate for you.”

The result is a client-team relationship that’s collaborative and mutually rewarding.

“We’re listening, we’re thoughtful,” adds Stephan. “If we’re thinking about your project at 8 o’clock at night, it’s not because of a problem. It’s because we care about you and want to do the best job possible.”

So when is remodeling a good idea?

1.  You love your neighborhood, but have outgrown your space. After doing the math, moving is not possible or affordable in the location where you want to live.

2.  You’re flexible about addressing only what’s tops on your priority list—which can mean anything from reconfiguring your current space to adding a master suite, addition, or outdoor living space.

3.   Everyone involved has the same end game and you will be happy with your decisions for many years to come.

Stephan sums it up: “It’s a big decision, but you have a choice. Instead of spending a lot of money on a different home you’re not in love in with, why not invest the same amount on something that accomplishes your goals?

What Stephan Believes…

Customer service is in his DNA. “We are experts in the service industry, thoughtfully guiding our clients to their dream home renovation.”

The ideal client is one who understands quality. “It doesn’t mean you’re paying the most for everything, but rather investing where it brings you the most value and joy.”

Post-pandemic, what were once minor irritants are now major irritants. “It’s one thing to hate your kitchen and only have dinner there a few times a week. It’s another to hate your kitchen for 21 meals a week—plus it’s your office and homeschool.”

Enjoyment is the best return on any investment. “If we’ve learned anything in the last year, it’s about how to live our lives better with those we love most.”
