‘Hippie Green’ Home in Quaint Montebello Park Feels Huge Inside

“We call it the TARDIS because it looks so small from the outside and everyone that steps in the front door says ‘WOW!’ ” seller Jodie Adams claims. She’s put her adorable Montebello Park home on the market with Realtor Bill Nelson. This home has so many cute features, including an upstairs addition that has dramatically increased the square-footage of this 1939 cottage inside the Stonewall Jackson Elementary attendance area.

And we have to agree about how much bigger it looks on the inside, especially with the open living room and spacious kitchen. Jump to see the photos!

“The photos dont do it justice,” Adams said of her home, which she calls “hippie green” not only because of the color, but also because it has three rain barrels and a lovely pagoda and trellis ensconced by a grapevine. The home has four bedrooms, two full and one half bath, two living areas, two dining areas, and more than 2,800 square feet. Adams has 4207 Camden priced at $499,000, which comes out to $178.09 per square foot.

Consider that some homes nearby are being sold for $200 per square foot and this looks more and more like a good deal. There’s a butler’s pantry, mud room, and tons of storage, Adams said. An eat-in kitchen with granite counters is lovely, and there’s a fantastic bedroom that is being used as a media room.

The master suite has been renovated to include a five-piece master bath with a free-standing tub and frameless glass shower. Yes, the glass has been installed, Adams assures. Marble counters and designer tile complete the look.

And while this home has some fantastic original details — wood floors, niches, and wood siding — I do love the backyard with the vines and lawn and cozy feel.
“This house really is one of the coolest houses around,” Adams said. We believe it. What do you think?
