In this cuckoo-for-cocoa-puffs real estate market, coupled with the fact that employers finally figured out computers work from virtually anywhere, buyers are suddenly willing to go farther than ever before. Like head for the hills, but make it the suburbs … AND BEYOND.

This little gem of a gem is located in Denton and it made a very compelling case to gas up the car and head north … then a little more north. Behold, the eclectic, half-acre heartbreaker set in idyllic Denton …

Wait, should we all be moving to Denton? This one was sent by a client that’s looking in Frisco as a, “Maybe we should expand our search?” situation. And you can’t argue with that.

This house is stacked. It super cool, a little way out and has so many architectural details to love, starting with the paved flagstone entrance giving it that earthly, one-with-nature feel. Then the angles. Geez, and also, Louise, I’m a sucker for angles. Also, 100 percent stole that joke from Seth Meyers so if you’re reading, thank you, sir.

Inside you’re greeted … that’s my least favorite thing to say, but inside you are in fact GREETED with skylights, high beams, and higher ceilings. And that staircase railing? It’s so modern!!

And don’t you love a hardwood floor that hasn’t been fussed up with rugs? This one has them for days.

Updated kitchen with custom cabinetry like no other. It looks like they flipped the gray switch and made everything extra light and ahhhh-ish in there. Stainless appliances so you can see your fingerprints because we all need more smudges in our lives. But that’s what this market loves, an SS appliance package. Plus Keller Williams’ Karin Seligmann calls the backsplash “jazzy,” and I’m all into that.

What’s so interesting about this home is the mix and match styles that all work together with a neutral-ed out palette. Traditional hardwoods, wood plank tile flooring, carpet on the stairs and in the bedrooms, and then, what’s that? Beloved cork flooring in the office.

There’s beadboard on the walls and some of the cabinets skew a little more traditional or country kitsch like in the bathroom, but again, the way it works together is a little modern, eclectic masterpiece.

Back outside it feels like you carved out a nice little place in the woods. There’s a massive 29-by-18 wood deck to grill and relax on, and when it’s time to take a mosquito break, pop into the screened cottage and commune with natural from a netted distance.

If you’re looking for something different and your dart landed in Denton, be sure to check out 10 Timbergreen Circle. It’s a four-bedroom, two-and-one-half-bathroom, two-story home that’s a delightful 2,842 square feet as reported by Phil Dill, the appraiser.

EVEN THE NAMES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ONE ARE PERFECTION.
