Wishing For Spring: My Nebraska Furniture Mart Wish List

Nebraska Furniture Mart of Texas is almost ready to open, so we’re making our wish lists!

We’ve been waiting until this spring to replace some of the furniture in our home. We were thrilled to find out that, when Nebraska Furniture Mart of Texas opens this month, we’ll be able to get pretty much everything we need all under one very, very, very big roof.

Our style is modern with some antiques, so color us pleased as punch to see that Nebraska Furniture Mart has a big enough selection to buy what we need and then have it delivered in a timely manner to our Dallas home.

Jump to see what I’m wishing for!

Abbie-Counter-Dining
Abbie Five-Piece Counter-Height Dining Set by New Heritage Design

We’ve had the same bar-height, two-seat kitchen dining set for a while. The only problem is that now instead of having a household of just two people, we’re a family of three. I love this dining set because it has a very similar seatback as my 1941-built dining room set. It’s counter-height, too, which makes it great for an extra prep area or as a buffet for entertaining.

Feizy-Sonoma-Cobalt-Rug-NFM-Wish-List

We’ve been meaning to replace our sisal living room rug for a while now. We love the rug, but as it turns out, it’s not very comfortable for sitting on the floor with a 3-year-old and doing puzzles. I wanted something with geometric lines that wasn’t too obvious, and was a dark enough color that it could hide spills. That’s why I adore this teal rug by Feizy. It’s large enough to have an impact in our small living room, but not so busy that it’s overbearing.

Cornell Chair and a Half by Xenia

Continuing in the same theme of re-doing the living room, I love the idea of having a chair-and-a-half. When you have a 3-year-old who loves to read books with you, it’s a lot easier for him to turn the page if he’s sitting next to you. That’s what’s great about these oversized chairs — if you like to spread out it’s great for one person, but if you have a large, permanent growth such as a toddler, it’ll fit him, too. This over-stuffed one in a very neutral gray is perfect.

And as long as we’re talking about re-doing the living room, why not dream of having a couch that doesn’t have pen marks and perma-stains on it? I’d definitely choose a low-maintenance microfiber in a dark blue gray like this one by Moda. This is a great shape for my living room, which is small, but also opens to the dining room. Placed just in front of my corner window, it would become my new favorite place to work from home. And after it’s Scotchgarded like all get-out, I might let Cooper sit on it, too.

Tristen-Metal-Bed-Queen-NFM-Wish-List
Tristen Queen-sized Metal Bed in Pewter

I have been scouring flea markets and architectural salvage yards for the perfect makings of a new bed, but honestly, who has the time? And then I saw this one on the Nebraska Furniture Mart website and, well, my search was over. It’s the perfect mix of transitional tones and vintage feel, which is totally my style. And because it’s metal, it’ll last and I won’t have to worry about the paint chipping, the wood getting nicked, or anything else. The only down-side? No more treating mommy and daddy’s bed like a trampoline on Saturday mornings for my little guy. OK, it’s a down-side for Cooper, but not me.

What’s on your Nebraska Furniture Mart of Texas wish list? Share it on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest with the tag #NFMWishList today. And if you want to shop for your #NFMWishList FOR FREE, go enter the store’s $1,000 gift card giveaway right now! The contest ends March 10, so hurry!
