UnionMain Homes is planning residential developments in two fast-growing North Texas cities with hopeful-sounding names — Fate and Prosper.
UnionMain is building the first homes at the 161-acre Edgewater master-planned community it developed along Farm Road 551, about a mile southeast of Interstate 30, in Rockwall County.
The Dallas-based homebuilder is also developing the Hills of Legacy in Prosper, north of U.S. 380 in Collin County.
Edgewater model homes are scheduled to open Friday, June 17. Hills of Legacy opened its sales last week.
UnionMain was founded in 2017 by former Gehan Homes CEO Tim Gehan.
Edgewater
The community will feature about eight acres of open space with walking trails, parks, an open-air pavilion, and three ponds.
“You’re combining kind of a rural feel with modern-day living,” Dennis Pitt, UnionMain’s senior vice president, told The Dallas Morning News.
Edgewater has premium front entry and rear entry floor plans. The Edgewater 60 design ranges from 2,700 to 3,735 square feet and starts at $645,155. The Edgewater 40 design ranges from 1,848 to 2,607 square feet and starts at $474,005.
Grand Homes and Shaddock Homes will combine with UnionMain to bring about 650 homes to Edgewater over the next four years with about 120 homes expected over the next 18 months.
Fate has seen the construction of 640 homes from March 2021 to March 2022, according to Residential Strategies.
Hills of Legacy
The community also has open space, 6.7 acres with sports fields, playgrounds, hike and bike trails, and an amenity center with a pool and splash pad. But the community is not far from the Dallas North Tollway, close to a thriving business and entertainment district, including Frisco’s 5-Billion Dollar Mile.
Homes range from 2,931 to 3,527 square feet and start at $800,000s.
