IHOTW-Contemporary

Our Inwood House of the Week sponsored by Inwood National Bank at 4216 San Carlos Street is a University Park new contemporary build by the Robert Raymond Group. Listed for $2.35 million with Laura Michelle and Ryan Strieff of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate, it’s a beauty inside and out.

Dallas is buzzing with new construction. We haven’t seen anything like this since the 1980s, and it’s very exciting because we have some of the most talented builders in the country.

Robert Liberi is the founder of the Robert Raymond Group. They specialize in design and construction of luxury homes in Texas, generally focusing on Preston Hollow and the Park Cities, where they’ve built three in the last year alone. These homes are all well over 5,000 square feet and are selling like hotcakes because he has figured out exactly what appeals to a modern buyer. Liberi also has a team of world-class architects and design professionals at his fingertips, so no detail is overlooked.

The location cannot be beat. This house sits in the heart of University Park. That means access to the great UP swimming pool all summer, fantastic tennis courts to play on, great neighborhood parks for the kids and dogs, and the stellar Highland Park Independent School District for all the kiddos. Frankly, with Southern Methodist University down the road, the kids can be schooled from Pre-K through college without leaving the neighborhood. The Park Cities, in general, make you feel like you’re living in a small town, with all the hospitality and neighborliness that comes with that.

So, great builder, great location and now let’s get down to four reasons why we love this particular house.

One: It’s streamlined and fresh.

It has those enormous steel frame windows and doors that allow natural light to fill a home. You could easily get away without window treatments as there’s a large privacy fence surrounding the house.GetMedia-1-1024x768

Two: It’s big! 5,048 square feet to be exact.

There are four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a powder bath, and a first-floor game room— all essential for a family.  The open-plan kitchen area is exactly what buyers want today. There is also a great outdoor living space.GetMedia-12.ashx_-1-1024x768

Three: Finish out.

Wow. A laundry list of lovelies fills the house.  Ann Sacks, Walker Zanger, and Porcelanosa tile and stone are featured throughout the home. Carrara marble was used in the bathrooms. Caesarstone and Vicostone countertops were installed in the kitchen, and Lueders limestone was used for the family room fireplace as well as on the exterior of the home.GetMedia-13.ashx_-1-1024x768

Four: Intelligence.

“Control4 is a scalable automation system which allows home owners to choose any level of integration and automation they wish,” Liberi said.  He’s wired the entire house so any level of the system can be implemented at any time. Liberi has installed a few entry-level Control4 features in order to demonstrate the functionality.  And yes, it’s all controlled by an app downloaded to your smart phone. This means with one touch you can stream music, change the temperature, dim the lights, and lock the door.

If it could pour us wine, we’d be tempted to make it our headquarters.
