Tuesday Two Hundred: Traditional Style in a Growing Urban Locale

Today we have a very cute Tuesday Two Hundred for you. We’re here in the Dallas Arts District today for the New Cities Summit, and we’ve got urban-oriented living on the brain. This home, which is inside the Montebello Park area of East Dallas is a wonderful family neighborhood that feeds into acclaimed Stonewall Jackson Elementary and is close to a wonderful mass transit center at Mockingbird Station. It’s also close to the shops and restaurants on Greenville Avenue, and would make a great first-time home for newlyweds. In total, it’s a great property for anyone who wants the single-family home lifestyle but doesn’t want to be car dependent.

Of course, with any home built in 1938, you’ll first notice how petite this little gem is. It’s only 1,532 square feet with two bedrooms and one and a half baths. Of course, if you’re looking to downsize and simplify for the urban lifestyle, 4242 Camden will sound rather appealing to you. It’s listed by Butler Property Company for $279,000.

I do adore this little house. It’s so cute and sweet. Lovely decor and cozy spaces. Tons of features that will make you sigh. The bathrooms, of which one is a very cozy powder room, are both very traditional with wainscotting and porcelain everywhere.

There are so many fabulous historical touches you’ll just swoon for, including the hardwood floors and wood-accented fireplace. Additionally, the front porch is just the sweetest thing ever bar-none, and the backyard is so perfect for summertime frolicking. I can almost smell something tasty on the grill with how welcoming this place is.

There have been a few updates to the kitchen, namely the countertops (granite), backsplash (stone), and appliances (Stainless steel). There’s also a butler’s pantry that would make a great eat-in breakfast area.

Of course, this home won’t appeal to everyone sheerly because of the size and layout. It does have a lot of walls, which isn’t so attractive for a younger base of homebuyers. It also feels somewhat dated thanks to the size of the rooms. But it’s the location and amenities that will capture the right buyer, who is someone that wants urban surroundings with the feel of a more traditional lifestyle.
