Tiptoe to this Preston Hollow Traditional on Tulip

GetMedia.ashx_-7-1024x768Our Monday Morning Millionaire may make you want to dash, rather than tiptoe, to see this Preston Hollow traditional at 6428 Tulip Lane . It was custom built by Registry Fine Homes for a local interior designer, but no we’re not spilling the beans. But you know any home built for a designer is guaranteed to surpass all expectations.GetMedia.ashx_-7-1024x768Registry is known for their quality and for working closely with clients to fulfill every detail and desire. “It’s just more ‘custom’ than most custom homes you see,” listing agent Christine McKenny with Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate said. McKenny has the 5,496-square-foot home listed for $1.57 million.

“It’s the attention to detail in this house that is just incredible.” It’s like separating the men from the boys when you find a home that’s not only gorgeous, but also well thought out. Coming up with ideas like having the back of the pantry open to the bar is genius.

GetMedia.ashx_-7-1024x768A theme running throughout the home are windows that are paned at the top and open at the bottom. Even the kitchen cabinetry echoes this design with the top cabinets featuring panes at that same window level.

Another great repetitive design feature are the arches, indoors and out, and in clever places like the storage areas for the patio fireplace wood. It’s consistency and harmony using these design touches that creates a level of comfort that’s hard to put a finger on — you just feel it without really noticing, until you do notice, and then you have the “Aha!” moment, and it just makes you smile at the cleverness of the design.

The arch design is repeated in the fireplace and bookcases in the home’s study.

More arches in the doorway design and over the Viking six-burner cooktop.

And more arches in the dining room.

Of course, there is a copious amount of storage. Even the attic is basically an enormous walk-in space that would be a breeze to turn into yet another room, not that you need one. The house has five bedrooms, with the master down — which we love — plus three bathrooms and a powder bath.

Perhaps a recording studio, a gift-wrap room, or maybe a candy room like Minecraft creator Marcus “Notch” Persson has in his home — yes we have ALL the dirt. It’s just nice to know all that space is there should you need it.

Arch and window pane detailing continue on the back patio.
