When you write about real estate for as long as I have written about real estate, you keep adding places to keep an eye on for amusing stories, especially when one is writing about the oddities in the industry. This week’s Wednesday WTF is a New York love shack, courtesy Reddit.

My friends, if you have not checked out the world of Real Estate Reddit, you should. Most of the time it’s people talking about contracts and clients that give them hiney pains, but sometimes, it is pure gold.

Take, for instance, today’s entry. Some eagle-eyed Redditor (that’s a Reddit Editor, which is what they call contributors) noticed this interesting write up for a one-bedroom apartment in New York City.

“HIDE & SEEK (ADULT STYLE),” it said (at one point, it’s since been made G-rated but we’ll get to that in a minute. “A sexy king-sized one bedroom where you’ll find four, very large closets in which you can hide from your very naughty playmate. And should you be lucky enough to be found the two of you can retreat to the king-sized bedroom where you can both romp and play all night. Tired of playing with only the two of you? Well then, invite many more dutty guests to partake in communal games held in your stadium-sized living room. However, be mindful not to let your guests stay past dawn though, else they’ll sure to be beamed by glaring sunlight; not good for the ‘walk of shame’.”

“Lol wtf. Maybe one of the agents sent it to another as a joke, and they pasted it before actually reading it,” said one benefit-of-the-doubt-giving commenter.

“Strangely the thing that bothers me the most about this whole listing is the weird comma in ‘your very, naughty playmate,’” another said.

And while the listing on Street Easy has been changed, you can still find the original in this very shaky YouTube video that I’m not embedding in this story because you’ll sue me after you get motion sickness.

The listing now just says, “Stadium-sized living room. 4 spacious closets. A kitchen you can actually cook and eat in. Southern and Eastern windows, all about. Cheap. That’s all, folks.”

So, dear readers, which is it — did a Realtor inadvertently make an oopsie with this oddly laid out love shack, or was it intentional?
