Lochwood is one of my favorite areas in Dallas because it has so many gorgeous, mature trees, hilly topography, and a stunning mix of architectural styles. I love the soft contemporaries, midcentury moderns, traditionals, and even the random colonial!
And it’s popular with families, too, thanks to the close proximity to White Rock Lake and nearby Lochwood Park. If this has been the neighborhood of your dreams for a while, well, it might be a little while longer before you find your dreamhome. In fact, Carrie Hill of Nathan Grace’s Olson & Hill team told me she was going to have a cute little home come on the market soon that was in my neck of the woods. That was two weeks ago. When 10811 Clearbrook hit the market this week, I was so excited to feature it.
Well, it was only on the market THREE WHOLE DAYS and now it’s officially pending. Crazy, huh?
This cutie of a Cape Cod-style traditional has three bedrooms, two baths, and 2,131 square feet. Carrie Hill had it listed at $332,500 and apparently that was more than fair for the market. Congrats on your sale, Carrie! But for those who want to know more about the homes in this neighborhood, you should understand that this 1961-built home is the perfect example of what you can expect. It has views of a greenbelt and is in a lovely part of the neighborhood. The front yard is an excellent opportunity for a gardener who wants to put a stamp on the home with some cool greenery and maybe even some native plants! Perhaps even a butterfly garden!
Renovated to accommodate modern life, this home features spacious living areas right as you walk in the front door. The open floorplan really shows of the hardwood floors and built-in cabinetry, and thanks to the bright neutral paint, it feels even larger. You get a spacious living area and a great family area that flows right into the open kitchen and dining area. This is perfect for families today who want more access and more space without sacrificing storage.
The kitchen has a lovely island with an elevated breakfast bar, which is perfect for quick meals and a spot to do homework. I do love the huge wall of windows that gives you a view to the backyard while you do dishes or have dinner at the open dining area. Not lacking in amenities, the kitchen has granite counters and stainless steel appliances, and beautiful white cabinetry.
Now, the bathrooms could use a facelift, with the hall bath sporting what looks like original tile and formica counters, as well as cabinetry, but it has a solid framework to build from. Same for the master bath, which has a corner shower and tons of cabinet space. Both bathrooms connect to bedrooms, so not only would this house be great for a family, It’s also a wonderful property for a young professional with a roommate or a single parent with an older child.
And the backyard? Well, it could easily be a fabulous retreat for a family or friends. You could definitely fit a pool back here if you want, and the large patio just needs a bit of shade and it’s a go for summer. No wonder it sold so quickly!
