Reinvented ranch

Architects and builders continue to impress us with the reinvented ranch. This one surpasses expectations and hits a new level of luxury and innovation.

This style of residential architecture is having quite the renaissance because it’s perhaps the most adaptable style to modernize. It also holds massive appeal to a new generation of buyers. They like the nostalgic reminder of grandma and grandpa’s house but want a substantial spin on it, a home with a modern identity that speaks to the way we live today.

When an EF3 tornado tore through Dallas in October of 2019 causing $2 billion in damage, it affected one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the city. After the shock wore off, Dallas did what we always do. We cleaned up, assessed, repaired, and built back better.

This home is a perfect example of making lemonade out of lemons after that devastation. It was taken to the studs and completely rebuilt by Sagrada Homes. At 7,438 square feet with four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and an enormous second-level flex space, it has every feature buyers want — and then some.

Allie Beth Allman Realtor Stephanie Davenport lives in the neighborhood and spotted this home for sale by the owner. She knew it was a smart investment for one of her clients. They agreed and began the process of bringing this house beyond its former glory to a luxurious and unique family home with a “Honey, stop the car,” drive-up appeal.

A Reinvented Ranch With Drama, Luxury, And Innovation

Designer Rafael Cordero is responsible for the drama. He worked with David Peris of Sagrada Homes and Ash Hoss of Amani Homes on the luxury finish out and the innovative look of this reinvented ranch.

“I envisioned a Scandinavian appeal where you can see into and through the house,” Peris said. “Rafael came up with the concept of seeing from front to back and creating a mirror image.”

The pantry and Gaggendau refrigerator/freezer is wrapped by a custom maple wooden slatted structure rimmed with lighting at the ceiling level. It acts as a sculptural focal point for both the kitchen and living areas. Those gorgeous ovens are by Fulgro Milano of Italy.

Plenty of room for those Manolo Blahniks, Jimmy Choos, and Christian Louboutins!

The bedrooms all have generous proportions, one with a fireplace, and of course, there is that Carrie Bradshaw, Sex-in-The-City-style closet in the principal suite. Even Mr. Big would be impressed!

And This Reinvented Ranch is Staged

If you read this column regularly — and we hope you do — you know that I believe staging is necessary in selling a home, especially a luxury home.

Remember, a home looks larger with furniture. Plus, where will a buyer sit down and take it all in? Where will they sign the contract? My bet is right there, at that kitchen table. Everyone wants to walk into a home, not a house. They want a warm feeling, an inviting atmosphere, and a look that resonates with their lifestyle. Bill Kiene provided the staging magic.

“It’s a great house,” Kiene said. “I was impressed with the builder. I find that when you can see through the house from entry to the backyard, it’s something people love. The impact is dramatic. This is also a great street with only neighborhood traffic.”

Kiene is absolutely right. This reinvented ranch is a great house in a great neighborhood.

The sun-washed flex space on the second level features a media room, a full bathroom, a huge closet, and access to the attic.
This reinvented ranch sits on over a half acre with room for a pool and a pickleball court! A sprinkler system has also been installed.

Allie Beth Allman Realtor Stephanie Davenport has 5612 Ursula Lane offered at
$3.299 million.
