This Hampton Hills Tudor is so Good It’s Gone

Over in Hampton Hills in Oak Cliff, there’s an incredible tree-lined street with long-term residents, deep setbacks, and super cute houses.

Ebby Halliday’s Cynthia Lopez said it’s one of those streets that’s always been a bit of a hidden gem. In the fall when the leaves change, you can take a walk down the street and write your own romantic comedy. When the holidays roll around, all the houses are dotted with lights, and you start thinking about hot chocolate and mini marshmallows.

Crazy to imagine there will be a day when it’s not upwards of 100 degrees, right?!

This Hampton Hills Tudor comes with an adorable artist studio in the backyard.

Now on to the house. One of the owners is an artist and there’s the coolest studio out back. It’s SO FREAKING CUTE. It comes with the greatest finish out of all time, air conditioning, heat, plumbing, and endless inspiration. (The good vibes are complimentary.)

On the inside of the main home, they updated it to a level that is typically found in homes with a much higher price tag. They reimagined the kitchen, moved walls, and created a space that flows beautifully and still feels incredibly cozy.

As you wander through the perfectionist-level rooms, you can definitely tell an artist lives here. The color and material choices are impeccable and not run-of-the-mill. This is someone that knows a color wheel and how to make a home feel warm and inviting. It’s updated and modern but without losing any of the original charm.

The kitchen and the bathrooms are both great examples of this. In the kitchen, the exposed brick, white shiplap, and slide-in oak buffet that doubles as a prep station calls back to the 1930s.

In the bathroom, they kept the original arch over the bathtub and kept the look clean with white subway tile on the walls and a contrasting white mosaic on the floor. The same cabinetry is found throughout the house for simplicity and cohesion.

One place there is variation are the window coverings. It’s a mix of honeycomb, woven naturals, and custom blackout shades.

ARTISTS! They know what each room needs.

Lopez listed 1414 Hollywood Avenue for $393,975. The offer deadline was yesterday at 5 p.m. so right about now someone’s home dreams just came true.
