Family homes often remain in the family. Seldom, however, do they receive a makeover quite this glamorous. When Sapna and Jai Desai needed a larger home for their growing family, her parents had just decided it was time to downsize from their large Hackberry Creek home.
Talk about perfect timing.
Of course, when you move into mom and dad’s home, you will put your identity into it, but Sapna had a long list of ideas.
“Once I told my architect what I wanted, the house had to be taken to the studs,” she said.
After all, this was to be the forever home where they would raise their twin daughters, so pulling out all the stops made complete sense.
A Glamorous Hackberry Creek Dream Home
Home automation was added, along with an elevator, a sauna, and a large media room the whole family could enjoy. The couple wanted an enormous deck where they could entertain and look out over the Byron Nelson-designed championship golf course at Hackberry Creek Country Club. The solution was an expansion of the original footprint.
Piers were added so the deck would be level with the interior and provide for a seamless transition from the family room to the deck. They completed the deck with a retractable awning as the finishing touch to a home that is a showplace indoors and out.
“This has been such a livable and comfortable house,” Sapna said. “We have loved living here and in Hackberry Creek. Living in a gated community means you get to know everyone and connect quickly. It’s so centrally located and safe.”
This home was built to last forever, but as life unfolds and kids grow, we know curveballs get thrown.
The girls were accepted into a private school, and the drive meant the family’s quality of life would suffer, so the dream home was put on the market. Of course, a very lucky buyer will score a hole-in-one when they purchase this 6,411-square-foot, six-bedroom, eight-bathroom Hackberry Creek stunner.
Listing agents Marci and Kimberly Barton with The Marci Barton Group, RE/MAX DFW Associates, have this dramatic showplace at 7404 Bradford Pear in Irving available for $1.95 million.
