For years we have been writing about the favorite vacation home getaways of North Texas, where people from Park Cities, Preston Hollow, Westlake, and Fort Worth escape the urban jungle. And we have a hot new spot that more than fulfills the second home checklist. It’s called Woodland Hills at Broken Bow.

For the uninitiated, Broken Bow in Southeast Oklahoma — about three hours north of Dallas-Fort Worth — is considered the gateway to Beavers Bend State Park, Broken Bow Lake, and Hochatown, where you’ll find Woodland Hills. This exclusive residential development, set on 740 acres of untouched hardwoods, offers large estate-sized lots that are thoughtfully deed-restricted. In fact, short-term rental analytics firm AirDNA ranked Broken Bow among the best markets for home investments in the nation. “Broken Bow earned the highest investability score on our list with an astonishing annual revenue of $85K per year,” the report said.

But Broken Bow has become a particular favorite for Dallasites looking for a driveable getaway destination. Just scroll your Instagram or Tik Tok feed and you’ll quickly see — Basically you either own a cabin up there or you rent one and drive up for a long weekend. So don’t be surprised when you see plenty of Texas plates on the road around here. This is the Dallas nature lover’s getaway of choice.

The Highland Park of Broken Bow?

No doubt one of the most exclusive and luxurious residential developments in Broken Bow is Woodland Hills. I can assure you there’s a lot to cover on these gorgeous homes and homesites available at Woodland Hills, and even more I can say about Broken Bow. I hear Broken Bow Lake is so crystal clear, you can snorkle in it!? I plan to report back when I see Woodland Hills with my own eyes.
