This Amazing Monticello Mediterranean Packs Plenty of Panache

Listed only two days ago, this Monticello Mediterranean new build has so much going for it that it’s difficult to know where to start.

Since this is a real estate website, I suppose we begin with location. The rambling structure on a double half-acre lot, sits in the heart of one of Fort Worth’s most desirable Westside neighborhoods — Monticello.

Curb appeal? Immaculate landscaping with style-appropriate, vertical cypresses punctuating the wings of the 5,868-square-foot house. A clever offset walkway leading to the arched vestibule steps forward to welcome visitors. The style takes the proportions and materials — stucco, iron, and red tile — from traditional Mediterranean style and pares down ornament to create a fresh modern aspect.

Inside the spacious five-bedroom, five-plus-two-half-bath residence, one is immediately awed by the fresh, clean luxury of the 2005 build, which has been given a recent remodel by Braswell Homes.

Take, for example, the cool splendor of the two-foot by two-foot marble squares which revet the extensive front hall. The staircase is one of two.

The dining room runs along one wing of the house to the left of the front. The walls are lacquered in a rich elephant gray. Floors are conscientiously rusticated oak parquet. A butler’s pantry leads to the kitchen.

At back, the house drops some of its formality, but not quality of detail. The open concept area with informal living, dining, and kitchen is unified by design details like the deep blue on the kitchen island and the bookcases at the far end of the space. The rich stain color of the rustic oak floors is picked up in the living area beams.

As would be expected in a house of this caliber, appliances are top notch including a 48-inch Wolf range and 72-inch Sub-Zero freezer/fridge. The Hispano Moresque tile coordinates with the gray cabinets.

The principal bedroom, one of five bedrooms, is located on the ground floor with access to the back garden. The ceiling is a unique, stepped tray ceiling, culminating in a peak. The adjoining bath has a large soaker tub, shower stall, twin vanities, and marble floors.

The glamor and glitz continues on the second floor. One bath features an extravagant lapis and gold tile which is nothing short of stunning.

The remaining four bedrooms are located on the second floor. There is also an 800-square-foot, de riguer, multi-purpose room described in the listing as a living room but could convert to an office, home gym, media room, or some hybrid of any of the above.

There are two laundry rooms, one on each floor. This posh laundry is located on the ground floor.

Outdoors, there is a full repertory of opulent amenities including a semi-enclosed living room with a fireplace. At center is an open pergola providing another seating area with an attached grill. The large lap pool has an attached spa. Parking at back, through an automatic iron gate, is a 500-square-foot garage.
