This 1920s Stevens Park Tudor Is Indeed High Caliber

This week’s sponsored home by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans simply checks all the boxes. High Caliber home. Architecturally significant home. Top-notch historical preservation home. And what we’d call an “O” home.

Built in 1928, 1805 Mayflower is set on a majestic lot with extremely wide front footage, something of a rarity, according to listing agent David Griffin of David Griffin & Company Realtors. “Everything surrounding this Stevens Park Tudor mansion has original setbacks,” David told us recently for an “O” Home feature. “It sits in the appropriate setting. There was no thought of building to every setback line in the 1920s.”

The home is owned by two landscape architects who have made wonderful improvements to the property in the 25 years they’ve owned it including the construction of a carriage house and garage with sliding barn doors, Griffin says. They added stone walls, pathways, and fountains to the beautifully-landscaped exterior that has large mature trees and shrubs.

Of course, the nods to its historic 1920s heritage are swoon-worthy: half-timber gables, casement windows, wrought iron light fixtures, and a red tile roof.

Inside, the two-story home shines with three bedrooms, two and half-baths, and 3,112 square feet on a 0.34 acre lot. This Mayflower Drive home has two living areas, a dining area, and kitchen downstairs, plus three bedrooms and a utility room upstairs.

Our preservation expert Karen Eubank points out the fireplace made by Rookwood Pottery, an American ceramics company that dates back to the 1880s.

The kitchen features a built-in refrigerator/freezer, commercial-grade dual fuel range, dishwasher, and double oven.

David Griffin has listed 1805 Mayflower Drive for $975,000.
