Things Are Hot in East Dallas’ Las Casas Neighborhood

This week’s Inwood Home of the Week, sponsored by Inwood National Bank is an updated beauty with large mature trees, located in a hot little pocket of East Dallas. This three-bedroom, two-and-half bath home at 2341 Freeland Way is listed by Bobbie Jo Glover of Compass’ Summit Group for $300,000.

The 1968-built home is located in the Las Casas neighborhood near N. Buckner Blvd and I-30 in East Dallas. We haven’t written much about this neighborhood before, but it’s very noteworthy that NINE of the 12 homes for sale right now in Las Casas are pending. The neighborhood of 1950s and 1960s homes is popular for its proximity to shopping and dining at Casa Linda, outdoor recreation at White Rock Lake and the Arboretum, and schools like Bishop Lynch High School and Eastfield College.

The home’s drive-up appeal is on point with off-white painted brick, black shutters, and a towering tree that gently shades the front of the home and its large front yard. I say gently because it’s not so shaded that the grass doesn’t grow — always a plus.

Inside, the formal living and dining areas are one large space with a nearly floor-to-ceiling bay window that lets in beautiful shaded light. Continue through the dining to the galley kitchen with granite countertops, white cabinets and tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen has both a breakfast bar and casual dining space.

From the kitchen, peek into the large living room that has built-in shelving flanking the fireplace and French doors that open to the spacious backyard.

A spacious, 20 x 10 owner’s suite features a generous walk-in closet, a custom shower with bench, and dual sinks. Two other bedrooms are well-proportioned and share a full bath. A half bath is conveniently located across from one of the bedrooms in case little brother or sister doesn’t want to wait for their sibling to finish getting ready. In total, the home has 1,907 square feet.

A blissfully shaded patio overlooks the grassy backyard with a storage shed on the side and gorgeous, new landscaping with a drip system. The property is listed as 0.214 acres, but feels like even more with its huge backyard that’s perfect for your kids — with both two legs and four.
