Last year, Americans across the country moved for a range of reasons, from resizing to finding the perfect place to retire, or just needing a change of scenery. One thing was certain – the places Americans want to call home continue to evolve.

In Dallas-Fort Worth, the vast majority of buyers flocked to the suburbs according to new data from real estate disruptor and iBuyer Opendoor. The hottest among those suburbs was Forney, which came in seventh in Opendoor’s national rankings after Texas towns Leander (No. 2), Katy (No. 3), and New Braunfels (No. 4).

The top 10 hottest ZIP codes in North Texas are:

  • 75126 – Forney
  • 76226 – Argyle, Lantana
  • 75072 – McKinney
  • 76028 – Burleson
  • 75035 – Frisco
  • 76244 – Keller
  • 75071 – McKinney
  • 76179 – Fort Worth, Saginaw
  • 75068 – Oak Point, Lakewood Village, Little Elm
  • 76227 – Krugerville, Aubrey

“Whether you thrive in a bustling urban setting or prefer a quiet residential suburb with a more laid-back vibe, Dallas-Fort Worth has something for everyone,” says Sharon Brown, Dallas General Manager at Opendoor. “We’re continuing to see an influx of out-of-state buyers relocating to Texas which is great for our economy and culture. We’re also seeing increased interest in areas surrounding the metroplex, including northern pockets like McKinney and Frisco, and areas like Keller, Forney, and Burleson. Whether you’re looking for a sizable upgrade or more affordable options, residents in the metroplex can get what they want without straying too far from the city limits of Dallas or Fort Worth.”
