The Browne + Douglas Group is celebrating a growing team and successful year as 2020 draws to a close. In the face of the sizable, pandemic-related challenges faced by the entire real estate industry, Cathy Browne, Beth Douglas, and their team drew on their loyal client base and adaptability to tackle the unprecedented year.
“I think what helped us the most was that our clients trust us,” Browne said. “Whether it was helping with improvements, buying or selling, they knew we were going to be there for them.”
In adherence with CDC guidelines, the team pivoted to doing much of their work virtually. However, despite the year’s trials, Douglas said 2020 was actually one of the best years yet for the group.
Browne + Douglas Welcome a New Team Member
The Browne + Douglas Group grew to a team of five with the recent addition of Jessica Smith. Smith attended Highland Park High School and Texas Tech University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design and Architecture, giving her a unique perspective into seeing the potential of a property. As a previous owner of a renowned steakhouse in Dallas, she learned the importance of giving excellent customer service.
Douglas said she is excited for the fresh perspective and enthusiasm that Smith brings to the team.
The Team’s Most Recent Listing
The group’s newest listing, 201 Lake Drive in Tool, TX, went live on Dec. 8 for $1.65 million, and it’s a looker. The three-bedroom, three-bath house is perched on the edge of an open water lakefront on a beautiful, sprawling lot of land. From fun down at the lake to passing a ball in the spacious yard, this house is great for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

One Year with Compass
The end of 2020 marks one year since the Browne + Douglas group joined Compass. Douglas said it was a good fit for their group and they’ve loved their time there this past year.
“Joining Compass came along with great technology and marketing resources that have been helpful in our success this year,” Browne said. “We’re excited about what 2021 has in store and we’re looking forward to another great year.”
