While moving to Oak Cliff is on the wishlists for many, you generally hear about one, maybe two schools that people desire buy near. But what if we told you just down Corinth sits a school that earned five out of six TEA distinctions last year — Roger Q. Mills Elementary?
And what if we told you that it will be a magnet school next year?
Last week, we checked out Dorsey Elementary in Pleasant Grove, but this week we took a look at Dallas ISD’s weekly Best Schools video series and found this look at Mills, and hunted down a great listing close by.
And this listing? An adorable 1940 Tudor at 1038 Galloway Avenue. It’s been completely renovated, but the exterior is still that classic Tudor.
Listing agent Carol Holmes with JP & Associates said that new landscaping and fencing is going in before the sale, too, which means soon the curb appeal will be off the charts.

Now, there is a caveat — when Mills transitions to a Two-Way Dual Language Talented and Gifted magnet next year, admission will be based on academic achievement, and students will need to apply to get in from now on — meaning that this is no longer a neighborhood school.
New students in the neighborhood will go to Cedar Crest Elementary.
