Friday Five Hundred: This Allen Abode Has Me Dreaming of Life in The ‘Burbs

1327-Rio-Grande-Front

As much as we talk about the demand for walkable housing, I have to admit that sometimes I want to high-tail it out of the land of potholes and title loan shops for the plush, green lawns and HOAs of Allen. I mean, they have some award-winning city government, great schools, and attractive prices for prime dirt. The suburbs never looked so good.

But not only is this cute Twin Creeks home just spectacular from the curb, it has a backyard you’re going to just die for. Jump to see inside this luxe listing from Vivo Realty Group‘s Bonnie Ottosen.

So warm and inviting, isn’t it? This beautiful abode at 1327 Rio Grande in Allen is perfect for a family who wants formal spaces and an open floor plan, but doesn’t want to expend any effort. I mean, you’ve got a gorgeous stone fireplace, a two-story foyer, tons of built-in cabinetry, a kitchen that opens to the living area, and a first-floor master suite for $599,900.

“This spectacular custom home has an over-sized lot and huge backyard that includes a diving pool and spectacular spa with a waterfall,” Ottosen points out. “Other features include a large gourmet kitchen, island, butler’s pantry, granite, gorgeous hand scraped hardwoods, study, plantation shutters.”

Not only that, but consider that there are five bedrooms, four full and one half baths, a three-car garage, and 4,453 square feet on almost a third of an acre. That’s a fantastic size for a family that wants a little more elbow room than most older homes in Dallas offer.

The configuration of the kitchen is great for folks who want to be connected to the living area but don’t want everyone to see all the dishes in the sink. There are stainless steel appliances, granite counters, custom cabinetry, a coffee bar, and a walk-in pantry. The refrigerator is a little far from the cooktop for my taste, but if you’re one of those fitbit folks, I guess cooking dinner is a sure-fire way to get all of your steps in.

“This amazing floor plan includes a private master retreat, bath, huge walk in closet, and a guest suite down,” Ottosen says. “Upstairs includes three bedrooms, a game room, and a media room.”

And of course, there’s that amazing pool with tanning ledge, spa, and waterfall. Combined with the large covered patio and nice little patch of lawn, this backyard is absolute perfection for those who want an outdoor area to which their kids can gravitate. What do you think?
