Christy Berry and Alex Kaliniak just listed this wonderful Sunnybrook Estates European mansion — and that’s where our world gets small. I’d written about the home of Robert Trown two years ago. Trown, it turns out, is the residential designer responsible for this 15,402-square-foot Sunnybrook Estates European mansion. He’s also the creative genius behind Troy Aikman’s latest residence and countless other homes of notable figures that have sworn us to secrecy.
Trown’s imprint is one you do not forget. He doesn’t just draw up a house plan, he creates a lifestyle and a home that feels like it has existed for centuries.
“We are total concept designers,” Trown said. “We can do it all from the architecture and interiors to the art collections and landscaping. Our goal is to create a home that has a lot of details that people have not seen before. We bring a different sensibility to what makes a home feel warm and collected, instead of decorated. You are not concerned about what’s happening outside when you are in a house we design. You are enveloped by the house.”
What separates one luxury estate from another is, of course, the atmosphere created by that level of detail. There is an inherent warmth and depth to a Trown home. There is a story behind every texture, every object, every finish. You are not going to see anything you’ve ever seen before in one of his projects. His goal is to have you wonder about the origins of everything from the antique fireplaces to the limestone floors and silk carpets.
