Nearly nine years to the day that veteran Dallas journalist Candy Evans began Daltxrealestate.com, the online real estate publication that became the flagship news provider of the Candy’s Media brand, the organization announced the promotion of a key staff member.
“I could not be more proud to announce that Shelby Skrhak will be expanding her role within the Candy’s Media brand,” said Executive Editor Joanna England. “We’ve grown at an astronomical rate over the past year, and I can’t think of a better person to help lead our staff and maintain our brand integrity.”
Skrhak joined the Candy’s Media staff early in 2018 and quickly became indispensable in her role as Senior Writer. Skrhak’s new title as Associate Editor encompasses virtually all of the Candy’s Media native advertising, editing duties, as well as becoming the voice of our successful Facebook page and Twitter feed. Skrhak came to Candy’s Media from Plano-based SUCCESS Magazine. She also hosts a popular podcast called, “Secret to My Success.”
“With Shelby’s talent and drive, there is nothing she can’t accomplish at Daltxrealestate.com,” founder Evans said. “With her strong background in business news and creative voice, Shelby is more than a proven asset to our team and we cannot wait to see how she shines in her new role.”
The organization also announced the departure of Audience Engagement Director Bethany Erickson, who joined the staff almost five years ago as a freelancer and ascended quickly. During her tenure at Candy’s Media, Erickson oversaw the company’s social media channels, as well as writing award-winning features and breaking news on a daily basis. Erickson, who couldn’t turn away from the siren song of community news, will bring her robust talents and commitment to journalism to her new role at People Newspapers.
