See How This Fantastic Oak Lawn Condo Up for Sale Has Evolved Over the Years

I’m always fascinated by how a home evolves over the years. Color palettes evolve, flooring changes with the trends, and an owner’s individual touch is wiped clean for the next owner. This 1982-built Oak Lawn condo is a great example of this and proof that good bones in a home make the difference.

But first, the basics: Located near Wycliff and Lemmon, Apt No. 8 at 4333 Bowser Avenue has two bedrooms, two baths, and one half-bath with 984 square feet per tax rolls. I mention the tax rolls because previous listings of this cute little condo list the square footage at 1,088. And yes, it really does feel bigger than 984 square feet. It’s listed by Jennah Ciers of RE/MAX DFW Associates for $299,000.

Downstairs, the step-down living room has a gas starter fireplace, built-in shelves, and open floor plan that shows off the steel and lucite floating staircase, dining area, and updated kitchen with breakfast bar. Of the two bedrooms and two full baths located upstairs, one is an open loft that has a built-in privacy screen.

Along with practical features like newly updated windows, AC, and a two-car garage, this condo has more storage than houses twice the size, Ciers says. “There’s a well-placed closet there on the landing and extra storage throughout the home. Plus, enjoy a cup of coffee on 100+ square feet of private green space with a small grass yard, one of the only patios in this Bowser community with grass.“

Now let’s hop in my MLS time machine and see how this great little Oak Lawn condo has changed over the years.

The last time this condo went on the market in 2016, it was fresh off a major kitchen remodel with modern cabinets, new tile backsplash, and stainless steel appliances, plus updates to the two and half bathrooms. Originally listed for $255,000, it sold after three days on the market for $5k over asking price.

Now turn the dials back to 2015 — back when we first heard “Uptown Funk” and Tom Brady was playing with deflated footballs (I told you we were in a time machine) — a very brightly painted Bowser hit the market for $228,000. The listing boasts bamboo, slate, and travertine floors with zero carpet in this “showstopping condo.” After 34 days on the market, it sold for $223,000.

Go back a little further to 2013 —when Lance Armstrong admitted to Oprah he was doping and the power went out at the Super Bowl in New Orleans. Bowser had a decidedly more industrial vibe with stained concrete floors. Described as a “killer condo,” Bowser was listed for $169,000 — a crazy low price, spent 15 days on market, and sold for $157,000.

Last stop, 2005. Described as a “designer condo,” our Oak Lawn gem shines with a galvanized steel finish on the floating staircase and a plum accent wall. It was listed for $174,900 and sold in just six days for asking price.
