Highland Park Italianate

Entering this Highland Park Italianate luxury home is like stepping into a countryside villa in the hills outside Rome. It’s one of the loveliest I’ve seen in quite some time, beautifully designed with groin-vaulted-and-beamed ceilings, stone floors, and fireplaces.

When I find a house this sophisticated and tasteful I know an equally sophisticated and tasteful owner was involved because every house has a story.

A Highland Park Italianate For Football Royalty

According to the Dallas Central Appraisal District, this Highland Park Italianate home belonged to Norma K. Hunt. As most of us who’ve lived in Dallas for years know, Norma was the wife of Lamar Hunt, one of the legendary Hunt brothers. He was the principal founder of the American Football League and Major League Soccer. Lamar was also the founder and owner of the Kansas City Chiefs. When he died in 2006, Norma and her children became minority owners in the Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been in the news a lot lately for something more than football. We are all aware love is in the air between tight-end Travis Kelce and superstar singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The Chiefs, in general, seem to have fallen in love with Taylor, but there is only one woman they’ve loved for decades, and that was Norma.

It wasn’t just a woman with taste and style who created this gorgeous Highland Park Italianate home; it was The First Lady of Football. Before her passing in June, she had attended 57 Super Bowl games and was one of only four members and the only woman in the Never Miss a Super Bowl Club.

One of The Best Streets in Highland Park

It’s no mystery why she would have chosen this location ten years ago. When Realtors tell you location, location, location, this is what they mean. This home is in the sweet spot of Highland Park, tucked between Lakeside and Prather parks, just a few blocks from the Dallas Country Club.

“Of all the homes I have listed in my career, 3900 Euclid has the most serene and peaceful feeling,” Compass listing agent Gianna Cerullo said. “It’s so sophisticated and elegant.”

When just the online photos exude an air of calm, well, you can only imagine what it’s like to be here in person.

The 5,845-square-foot Italianate home has three living areas, two dining areas, four bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, and one of those beautiful yet comfortable kitchens where you know everyone will invariably gather. You won’t miss a moment of any football game because there’s a TV cleverly embedded above the refrigerator.

The Ultimate Real Estate Touchdown

Although this is an intimate and serene property, it’s one that easily accommodates family and friends. French doors open from the public spaces to the beautifully landscaped grounds, patios, and pool. We don’t see many classic properties like this, with just the right amount of character and class.

This is indeed the ultimate real estate touchdown.
