Living on White Rock Lake is an experience like no other because the quality of life is paramount here. You have the serenity and beauty that lake living offers without the noise of jet skis, motorboats, and endless partying. You may hear the soft swish of a paddleboard or a sailboat, but that’s about it.
This is primarily due to an active neighborhood association that is one of the oldest in Dallas. They have been the driving force in maintaining this neighborhood’s serenity by enacting a host of initiatives that have included ensuring tour and dinner boats cannot operate on the lake and ending the use of White Rock Lake Park for the City’s annual Fourth of July fireworks display.
As you can imagine, people tend to stay put here, especially in homes with a lake view. They just don’t come on the market very often. So, when an architect-designed custom French transitional estate on 1.49 acres with more than 10,000 square feet becomes available, it’s international news because, as we know, everyone wants to move to Dallas now.
C.A., Nelson Architecture Group designed this dramatic White Rock Lake luxury estate. Known for their creative detailing, they design to simplify the issues associated with daily living and artistically solve functional challenges.
Architecture is, at its best, Art with a functional purpose. Our philosophy is that Form Follows Function.

A Classic French Transitional Home With a Colorful Twist
“This is a classic French transitional home with French details flowing through the interior and the exterior,” Neill Calhoun, a partner in SCH Homes, said. “There is great natural stone everywhere and excellent fixtures throughout. We built practicality into the home as well. After the 2020 ice storm, it became important to have a generator. We installed a whole home dual fuel, natural gas, and propane generator. If one system fails, you always have a backup!”
Cohesive Details
That flow of detail in this White Rock Lake luxury estate is important because a home is often only exquisite from the exterior. In this case, you want to linger in every room and take it all in. Extensive use of floor-to-ceiling windows and doors in the main living area allows for views of the lake and the expansive backyard and pool. It’s a delightfully refreshing home inside and a testament to why neutral walls are the perfect foil for those of us that love color in our furnishings.
The principal suite has one of the most stunning dual principal bathrooms I’ve seen in a long time and an insanely beautiful closet with a glamorous peach Murano glass chandelier. As Calhoun mentioned, the light fixtures in this home are next-level.
This home has everything you could want for entertaining family and friends. An extensive wine cellar lies just off the family room, and you can reach the media room, gym, and game room from one of two staircases or the elevator.
We feel so fortunate to have enjoyed this home for the last two years. Typically, one has to travel at least an hour and a half outside of Dallas to experience lake living, and even then, perhaps once or twice a month. To be able to come home every day to a true escape, yet be so close to all of the places we need and want to go to, is really a gift.
