The three-bedroom, one-bath gem at 1611 Centerville Road offers a unique combination of midcentury charm and modern amenities. The home was originally built in 1950.  Its previous owner, who also just happened to have grown up there, remodeled it after his parents passed away. The renovations he made added necessary updates while restoring much of the original character.

Dallas City Center Realtor Scott Noblett helped him sell the house a few years ago, and was impressed with the pride he took in renovating it. Now that the current owner is moving on, he’s looking forward to finding another family who will fall in love with this one-of-a-kind property.

“It’s such a charming little house,” Dallas City Center Realtor Scott Noblett said. “It has a lot of the original hardwood floors that have been beautifully refurbished. It’s super inviting and makes you feel really comfortable.”

The home has a new HVAC system, programmable thermostat, energy efficient appliances, and updated mechanicals. It’s located in the heart of fast-growing northeast Dallas, minutes from White Rock Lake and less than two miles from Casa Linda Plaza and Casa View Shopping Center, which is currently undergoing a massive, ambitious renovation. The surrounding neighborhood boasts well-maintained homes, many sporting majestic, mature trees.

While knocking down walls has become the norm in modern day renovations, 1611 Centerville Road still retains its original floor plan, creating that homey feel from days of yore. All windows have been replaced, as well as the roof and siding on both the home and detached garage. The garage door was recently upgraded so that it can now be controlled via smartphone.

For those concerned about the home’s size, the surrounding lot is large enough to accommodate an addition should they want to add another bath or master suite. The front has plenty of curb appeal, including a large tree and a recently redone sidewalk and driveway. It will be an impressive find for somebody, especially considering that it is currently listed for less than $200,000.

“This is a home that has seen a lot of love over generations,” Noblett said. “It’s just a great little house that someone is going to be proud to drive home to every day.”
