Dreaming of a North Oak Cliff Tudor? This Newly Listed Home Is it!

The Kessler Park neighborhood in North Oak Cliff is comprised of 10 separate developments dating from 1923 to 1979. The first was the Kessler Square Addition in March 1923. In November of that year, the Kessler Highlands Addition, east of Kessler Square, was added. It has long, rectangular blocks that run east-west, including Thomasson, Stewart, Kidd Springs, and Salmon, where our Thursday Three Hundred is located.

The Tudor revival at 834 Salmon Dr. is a 3-2 with 1,840 square feet, built in 1926 and beautifully renovated. The vintage charms shine through, with the original fireplace, appealing facade, and and lovely hardwoods.

It was listed March 4 by Grant Vancleve with Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty for $389,000.

The renovation of this Tudor has done an excellent job of enhancing the original features of this home, instead of detracting, as many home renos do. Custom glass front cabinets in living room flank the brick fireplace, and the design is echoed by two-sided custom glass-and-wood cabinets that act as a visual divider between the living and dining rooms. Classy.

The kitchen is now fit for a discriminating buyer, with custom white cabinetry, feet and feet of counters, and stainless steel appliances, including a wine refrigerator. Just as in the rest of the house, beautiful windows allow natural light to stream into the room.

In the rest of the house, you’ll find pocket doors, cedar-lined closets, and a sunroom addition. There’s also an oversized two-car garage and electronic gate.

We’re charmed by this Kessler Highlands Tudor in North Oak Cliff. What do you think of its $389K price tag? Leave us a comment.
