This Pedigreed Home in Highland Park ISD Is Like the Cool Kid on the Block

Most of our readers have raised or are raising kids, or have been a kid themselves. (If you don’t fall into one of those categories, feel free to skip this article. JK. Stick around.) So we hope you can appreciate a well-timed metaphor.

Like that confident new kid in high school who came mid-year — you know, the mysterious one from California or wherever who charmed all the teachers and quickly found friends in all the cliques — 7423 Greenbrier Drive effortlessly blends with its neighbors yet subtly commands attention in a non-boastful way. It may be the new kid on the block (designed by Richard Drummond Davis and built in 2023 by luxury builder Colby Craig Custom Homes), but it also knows what’s going on and what’s more, has it going on.

“Living in University Park and attending HPISD schools, is a little like being part of a really big, fun social club,” says Ebby listing agent Danielle Brasher of the Little White House office. “It’s a community where people know each other’s names, the mailman is practically a family friend, and the biggest scandal is when someone’s front yard gets TP’d. From personal experience, I can say it’s easy to forget there’s a big city surrounding it. You hardly need to leave the township limits except perhaps to go to work or the airport.”

The perfectly manicured lawn, which covers a generous .42-acre lot,  looks as if it just stepped out of a spa day, with grass so lush you’ll wonder if it’s getting Vitamin B infusions when you’re not looking.

The exterior of the French Transitional is a classic blend of brick and tradition, the kind that says, “I’ve been here for a while, and I’m not going anywhere.” It’s not trying too hard, but it doesn’t have to. It fits right in by being unapologetically itself.

Walking through the front door, you find yourself in the kind of entryway that makes you feel important, even if you’re just there for a free bottled water and cookie during an open house.

Spacious split formals will instantly vie for your attention. To the left, a dining room where you could be hosting your 2024 Christmas feast. And to the right, a living room that can accommodate both a grand piano and a post-feast existential chat. The powder bath and service pantry are both adorned in the instantly recognizable Phillip Jeffries wood-paneled wall coverings.

The kitchen, the heart of any home, is undeniably the heart of this one. Wolf/Sub-Zero appliances, hardware, and lighting all glisten like they’re auditioning for a cooking show, and the marble waterfall countertops are so pristine you hesitate to use them for their intended purpose. The fireplace in the adjacent family room is a relic from a time when people actually used those things for warmth and adds a touch of nostalgia.

The bedrooms are spacious, each with its own personality. The downstairs primary suite is a sanctuary of calm, with a bath that boasts heated marble floors and a tub more than big enough to wash away your worries in. Take the elevator to the second floor where here’s another primary along with three en suite bedrooms with walk-ins. Game and media rooms and an expansive balcony overlooking the pool, also on this level, may mean you don’t see your fellow residents often except perhaps at mealtime.

The backyard is a not-so-hidden gem, viewable from multiple vantage points in the house. In this private oasis, you can pretend you’re on an everyday resort vacay while sipping your morning coffee or grilling in the outdoor kitchen.

The pool – with a chiller, FYI – is a reminder that, despite the manicured lawns and elegant facades, this house knows how to let loose. Like school kids at release for Christmas break!

Offered for $6.95 million. Contact Danielle at 214.926.9788 or [email protected] if you’d like to meet this new kid in person. For more information on Colby Craig Custom Homes, visit colbycraighomes.com.
