Apparently, Ashton Woods is fond of a stretch of the Sam Rayburn Tollway.

Alpharetta, Ga.-based Ashton Woods, one of the nation’s largest private homebuilding companies, recently announced its new community, Watters Edge at The Farm. Ashton Woods has 112 homesites available for a 135-acre mixed-use development that’s under construction on Texas 121 on the northeast corner of Alma and Ridgeview drives.

Just to the east of Watters Edge at The Farm on Ridgeview Drive, Ashton Woods is also offering townhomes at Lexington Estates. To the west of Watters Edge at The Farm is Southern Hills in McKinney on the north side of Texas 121. Ashton Woods also has developments in Princeton and Melissa.

Watters Homes townhomes will be priced from the mid-$300,000s.

“Watters Edge at The Farm offers numerous natural amenities that make it unique,” Kara Dederick, vice president of sales for Ashton Woods’ Dallas division, said in a statement.

“The community has everything a homeowner could want — from the wide-open spaces of the greenbelt and West Lake Park to restaurants, entertainment, and shopping — all within walking distance of their homes.”

The project’s first phase will include an almost 2.7-acre entertainment center called The Hub. Apartment builder Wood Partners is also developing a 325-unit rental community in The Farm.

Developed by JaRyCo, The Farm will include more than 1.6 million square feet of offices, 140,000 square feet of retail, a 150-key hotel, and 60,000 square feet of restaurants, townhomes, and urban residential units.

“Ashton Woods is a key part of our live-work-play-community, and we look forward to seeing the personalized touch their homes bring to The Farm in Allen,” said Bruce Heller, president of JaRyCo.
