Dallas ISD magnet schools don’t usually have open seats — the rare exception is when they are in their first couple of years, maybe. So when we found out that three magnets still have spots open, we decided to take a look at the kind of inventory you can find.
We’ve written about Roger Q. Mills Elementary before — the school earned five out of six TEA distinctions last year. A quick perusal of inventory near J.P Starks Math, Science and Technology Vanguard showed that properties near the school are dear (but we’ll take a look next week nonetheless).
But this week, we’re taking a look at homes near Mark Twain School for the Talented and Gifted, which is accepting applications for students entering grades one through five.
“The schools will offer two-way dual language programs and include instruction in language arts, mathematics, humanities, the sciences, technology, fine arts, and physical education,” the district said. “Both will also offer exciting extracurricular activities that will make learning fun.”
And we’ve found a listing that is a quick couple of blocks from Twain, in the Glen Oaks neighborhood. This 1962 Midcentury Ranch located at 508 Brook Valley Lane has five bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, and a generous backyard.
The home has been updated throughout, with new flooring and paint. The galley-style kitchen is light and bright, and benefits from new granite and stainless steel appliances.
