Love and Care Put Into This Updated Kessler Park Home

Updated, move-in ready homes move pretty fast in Kessler Park, where you’ll find as many contractors’ trucks as residents in this popular Oak Cliff neighborhood. For this High Caliber Home of the Week, presented by Lisa Peters of Caliber Home Loans, Mark E. Manley of Keller Williams Urban Dallas kindly gave us the heads up to this Greenbriar Lane two-bedroom, where he’ll host an open house 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26.

The 2,602-square-foot home built in 1950 has only had three owners in its lifetime. The home was built for George W. and Mary Fox, who later sold it to William F. and Noreen Nicol, founders of Nicol Scales and Measurement in Dallas. In addition to running Nicol Scales, William served on the Dallas City Council from 1975 to 1979. The sellers, now the home’s third owners, have lived there since at least 1999.

“They have lovingly cared for this home over the years and completed numerous renovations to make it truly a very special place for entertaining and such,” Manley said.

Manley describes this home as picturesque and we have to agree. It’s not a huge home or anything with two bedrooms and two and half-baths, but it’s stately in its design elements throughout. As you walk in, there’s a formal living room with a fireplace that’s adjacent to the large formal dining.

The large, well-appointed kitchen has granite countertops, white subway tile backsplash, and white custom cabinetry, including extra-wide drawers and lighted glass door cabinets. The kitchen island is huge with sink and storage on one end and enough room to seat four on the other. Stainless steel appliances SubZero refrigerator, Thermador range, steam drawer, and dishwasher.

The kitchen opens to the spacious step-down family room with a second fireplace and access to the backyard deck.

The master suite offers two walk-in closets with seating area, dual sinks, standalone shower, custom tile work, and a heated floor.

The home at 821 W Greenbriar Lane is listed for $639,900 by Mark Manley & Donald Neilson / Neilson Group at Keller Williams Urban Dallas.
