Kim Bedwell Returns to Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s Southlake

After less than a year away, Kim Bedwell has re-affiliated with the Briggs-Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty.  It’s where she worked for seven years.

Bedwell says she didn’t realize how hard it would be to leave the place where she established herself.

“The opportunity for me to come back and also be a leader for the agents in the (Briggs Freeman) Southlake office and help grow our office here was just something that I couldn’t say no to,” Bedwell said.

She adds that, while her time away from Briggs Freeman was brief, she considers it a positive experience. The things she learned about her business and herself over the past eight months will help her move forward and grow.

One of Bedwell’s long-term goals has always been to coach up-and-coming agents and help them find their way in the industry. At Briggs Freeman, she will now be more involved in the company’s mentoring program for new agents.

After beginning her career working in interior design, Bedwell was inspired to get her real estate license in 2010.  She started out working with a top Southlake agent who showed her the ropes and helped her get established.

Like many agents, she started off working all over the region.  Over time, more and more of her deals began to come from Southlake and surrounding cities.  She now consistently ranks among the top-producing agents in that area.

As part of growing her business, Bedwell recently brought on former radio executive Tom Lee to serve as her director of operations.  She says the move was necessary because as an individual agent, it is nearly impossible to manage social media and marketing while also coordinating transactions and trying to focus on listings.  She believes that the systems Lee is now working to put in place will help take her service to the next level.

In the near future, Bedwell would like to add some agents to her team, potentially ones new to the industry that she can help mentor. Before that, she wants to focus first on her own listings and helping buyers navigate the intense market. She also wants to make sure that she has plenty of time for her son who is a senior in high school this year.

“I’m just really excited to be back at Briggs,” she says. “It’s been super easy coming right back basically, and now I’m off and running.”
