Who doesn’t love a bit of architectural drama? After what seems like a decade of white-box living, I think we are all ready for something spectacular, and this majestic modern is the answer. It was designed by architect Blane Ladymon, founder and managing partner of Domi Works.
Ladymon is not your typical architect. He is also a licensed interior designer and a master builder.
“I can bring a streamlined, cost-effective process to a project because I do it all,” Ladymon said. “This house was one of the more fun projects I’ve done in a long time.”

Designing a home is a partnership with your client, and it was advantageous that Ladymon knew the owners from working on a previous commercial project for them. The idea was simply to build a beautiful house with extraordinary exterior aesthetics. The main requests were for a two-story living space with a catwalk, privacy for the principal suite, and the many family and guests that frequently visit.

The two-story, floor-to-ceiling, curved wall of windows on the facade struck a memory chord with me. If you’ve never seen John Travolta’s Dana Smith-designed home in Jumbolair Aviation Estates in Ocala, Florida, look it up because this could be a modern version. Travolta may need to call Ladymon for an update!

The 7,012-square-foot, five-bedroom, four-bathroom home sits on 1.39 acres, with an additional 1.5 acres also available in the coveted Dallas private school corridor. If you are wondering, the ceilings in the central part of this majestic modern are 24 feet high, so if you have any basketball clients that need some head space, this is the perfect home!

A highlight of this house has to be the bar.
“We lit the bottles from below, making it look like a show bar, “ Ladymon said. “It’s out of amber onyx and 20 feet long. It’s a great vantage point for the host to be behind the bar because you can see everything happening.”

A Majestic Modern Made For Entertaining
It’s hard to imagine a home better suited to entertaining.
“The floor plan is great,” Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s Realtor Terri Brak Thomas said. “They have hosted 300 people in the front yard, complete with camels!”

You have such an advantage when you build because you can select durable materials like acacia wood, stone, and concrete that will stand the test of time. The owners tried to create a maintenance-free home. When you have three big dogs, you know how important that is, and yes, they included a dog run.

This is the first time this majestic modern home has been on the market, so we don’t expect it to last long. Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty’s Terri Brak Thomas and Jason Clark have 10150 Marsh Lane offered for $4.6 million.
